In re: a certain commercial
  • Mike: Jack, I got a good one for you. What do you think of when I say "water balloons"?
  • Jack: Parking lot vasectomy!

(The video’s not letting me embed it, so here’s the link.)

Oh, The Instigators. The new season starts tonight, and I am way more excited than I should be about the prospect of watching Jack Edwards and Mike Milbury fight with each other while Andy Brickley plays moderator (which is ostensibly Mike’s role on the program).

This commercial is amusing, not just because Jack gets nailed in the huevos with a water balloon, but because — aside from the “Kick Me” sign Mike puts on his back — Brick escapes abuse. That must’ve been Jack’s idea.

Via Hub Hockey: Jack Edwards does a spot-on impression of Phil Kessel.

The shortest distance between two points is Chuck Kobasew. Jack Edwards, 10/16/09 Boston Bruins telecast (via dreamincolorx)

Creepy.
  • Brick: Catch-up hockey...
  • Brick and Jack: ...is losing hockey.
8 goals, 70 PIM, and counting.
  • Jack: I do not envy the person at NESN who's going to have to edit this down for Bruins in 2 tonight.
  • Brick: Hey, that's why they get the big bucks.
This picture is from last season, but I don’t care; besides, I couldn’t resist sharing Jack’s horrible outfit again.
The point is that these two goofballs are back on my TV and all is right with the world.

Those fortunate enough to inherit the position Fred Cusick created are merely playing on the land he cleared. None of us ever will have the impact he had in generating the fan base for this team. Fred was passionate and willing to share how much the game thrilled him every night, and he drew us in with those qualities. We have lost a great pioneer. Jack Edwards

During the Montreal/Boston game on March 20, 2008, the NESN techs didn’t cut to commercial on the HD feed, allowing Bruins color commentator Andy Brickley the opportunity to drop an F-bomb on live television.

Oops.

But Brick is the man, so nobody cares. Well, the FCC might, but I don’t.
