Un tour du chapeau de Marc Savard et les Bruins l'emportent, 7-2
Enough said. And I would like to point out that I asked Rex to score a goal on Twitter, and he did, so that means that I CONTROL THE UNIVERSE.
Copious amounts of Byron Bitz also acceptable. (Steve Babineau/NHLI via Getty Images)
I hate shootouts, I hate the Devils, I hate Martin Brodeur, and I hate losing. But I will take copious amounts of Blake Wheeler any way I can get it. (Steve Babineau/NHLI via Getty Images)
Boston Bruins Blog - Thornton helps Bruins' cause in many ways - ESPN Boston
Thornton is one of those players you classify as a “glue guy” — a rare ego-less, do-anything athlete in pro sports — that every team needs. And that’s not just because he forges off-ice chemistry between teammates with events like his Thanksgiving dinner.
Take the night a few weeks ago when the first-place Sabres were in town. With Boston protecting a lead, gritty 6-foot-4, 229-pound Buffalo forward Paul Gaustad rear-ended Bruins forward Byron Bitz in the corner. Bitz got to his feet in the blink of an eye, but the 6-3, 200-pound second-year player didn’t get a chance to defend himself: Thornton (6-2, 217) had already begun to introduce his fists to Gaustad’s face.
“You can’t say enough about the job [he does]. He’ll do anything for any of us. He’s a good teammate,” Bitz said after the Buffalo game.
